greek military uniforms

Greek Military Uniforms - Uniforms are basically the same for all ranks. Officers and WOs wear dark green collar patches; on the right patch the insignia of the branch is sewn in yellow, on the left side the rank insignia is yellow or white. Professional NCOs wear a ring chevron on the left collar, enlisted men have a chevron on the upper right sleeve. No other emblem is worn. The field header is identical for all rows.

Camouflage uniforms are limited to paratroopers, commandos and marines; another branch uses a drab olive oil version. Berets are green for commandos and paratroopers, blue for the presidential guard 'Evzones', black for armor, red for the army aviation, olive for the other branches. This beret badge replaced the 1968-1973 and 1973-1975 versions, both with their respective peak cap badges without the wreath. In combat, the US M1 helmet is worn with a camouflage cover. The insignia and branches are like those for barracks clothes. The title shoulder and formation patch was apparently also worn by the paratroopers; but the Marines have the classic sailing ship insignia under a different wording title. Star-printed parachute wings denote the second of three levels. The automatic rifle is the Belgian FN FAL, folding stock model.
